Revised drawings that record the actual constructed locations of all elements as they were built, including deviations from the original design.

In the Field
As-builts are a contractual closeout requirement. The GC and each sub must mark up their drawings throughout the job — not try to reconstruct from memory at the end. Utilities especially must be as-built accurately; buried pipe mislocated by 2 feet causes expensive excavation later.

Rule of Thumb
Assign one person per trade to maintain as-built redlines from day one. Trying to compile as-builts from memory at closeout takes 10x longer and is far less accurate.
