HVAC is typically the largest MEP scope and the most coordination-intensive. Ductwork takes up more space than any other MEP system. Coordinate duct routing with structure and other MEP before rough-in — dropped ceilings are often driven by duct conflicts.

HVAC typically represents 40–50% of MEP cost on commercial projects. Mechanical rooms need clear access paths — service clearances of 36 inches minimum on all sides of major equipment.
